CGI (Computer-generated imagery)
Currently the most advanced form of movie special effects. The visual quality is significantly better than traditional special effects techniques such as
Stop-motion Animation and Matte Paintings, and offers a higher degree of control and flexibility. Also the most popular cartoon animation technique to date.

Cinema
The movies, or the place where you pay money to watch them. Also commonly associated with expensive popcorns, ringing cellphones, and rather dim projections.

Cinematography
The discipline of making lighting and camera choices when recording photographic images for the cinema. (Wikipedia.com)

Clay Animation / Stop Motion
An animation technique where objects (usually clay) are manipulated and filmed frame-by-frame to create the illusion of movement. Used in many movies of old such as
Clash of the Titans and King Kong (1933), and sometimes in contemporary animated fares like Corpse Bride and Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-rabbit.

Close-up
A camera angle that focuses on a particular area of a person, usually the face to emphasise facial expressions. For objects, it's usually to point out that a particular object is of some significance in a scene.

Critics
People who review movies and let you know if they're worth your time and money. Usually, nobody listens. Example: Ghost Rider holding the number one spot for two consecutive weeks despite awful reviews.

Cross-cutting
An editing technique of cutting from one action to another that are occurring in separate locations. Example: the baptism scene in
The Godfather.

Cut
An act of (1) adding an abrupt transition, (2) removing or censoring segments in a movie, or (3) an edited version of a movie, usually an editor's, director's or final cut. See Edit, Cross-cutting, Director's Cut, Editor's Cut, and Final Cut.
