A quick review:
BASICALLY… it’s about a historical Greek ruler named Alexander the Great who was uniquely compassionate and liberal in his approach as a conqueror. I know this because I played an old PC game called “The Ancient Art of War”.

LIKE… an incoherent
Troy.

LOVE… the fact that it wasn’t a straight out turd. At least it was watchable.

HATE… the bloody narration by Ptolemy (Anthony Hopkins). Totally unnecessary and bogs down the whole movie. Also, the weird use of accents. Irish and Russian-accented Greeks??? Stick with English accents when doing swords-and-sandals epic, says Sir Ridley Scott.

BEST BIT… to many, it’s definitely the battle scenes. There were some “acting” bits that were good, but I can only remember the elephant battle during the Indian campaign. Still, can’t beat
Return of the King's Mamukil/Oliphaunt stampede.

OVERALL… average Greek epic. It makes
Troy look like Gladiator.

THANKS TO… Oliver Stone. Whatever happened to your edge, man??? -
