A quick review:
BASICALLY… a remake of Batman, finally done with justice. Forget parts 1, 2, 3 and 4.
LIKE… Seven meets The Crow.
LOVE… the realistic take on the Batman mythology. Yes, it’s actually more realistic than the seminal Batman series “The Dark Knight Returns”. Also, the cool cast: Bale! Freeman! Caine! Oldman! Hauer! Neeson! Watanabe! Best ensemble of the year!
HATE… the pacing and the editing. Could have been better, but it’s nitpicking, really. Also, the lame ‘evil plot’.
BEST BIT… (SPOILER WARNING!) Many would say it’s the Batmobile. Personally, I liked the way they explained how the Batsuit could be manufactured without anyone noticing it’s a Batsuit. But the honest choice would be the moment when Brucie almost avenged his parents and gone to the dark side. Ballsy scene for a family-friendly, big-budget fare.
OVERALL… the best Bat movie by far!
