A great comedy
Shoot ‘Em Up is the most ridiculous movie I’ve ever seen. However, it’s also one of the funniest and craziest movie I’ve ever seen! I somehow enjoyed it because of the unrealistically creative stupidity that they can think of. I mean, if compared to Transporter 2, I think this is better because if you’re planning to make it super-unrealistic, you might as well go all the way and not half-heartedly. That’s what’s good about Shoot ‘Em Up. Almost everything is unrealistic and doesn’t make sense. I really laughed like hell when he used his fingers to fire the damned bullets. I thought he was going to throw some ball of flames on the baddie instead. Watching this movie is like watching an exaggerated version of Army of Darkness+Transporter 2+other shoot-‘em-up movies, all mixed into one.
They have everything from ground-level shooting to back-alley shooting, sliding-down-table shooting to flying-in-the-air shooting, using-ropes-to-control-guns shooting to getting-laid-while shooting (how creative!), air-diving shooting to jump -through-a-windscreen-into-a-van-full-of-people-and-managed-to-kill-all-with-a-handgun shooting, and lots more. How can I not mention Shoot ‘Em Up’s trademark carrots used for fatal stabbings and gun triggering functions?
No doubt, this is one of the best comedies I’ve ever seen. My wife was laughing like hell too. Finally there is a movie that she can truly enjoy. But she did think it was stupid, which is still good because that’s the message they wanted to deliver to us, and we acknowledge it.
Anyway, thanks for the movie, BMF! Really brightened up my day. |
