| No Mr T. here Raging bull is somewhat a shocker to me. I was expecting it to be something like Rocky or Million Dollar Babe, but end up having the Godfather and Goodfellas elements. After watching this movie, i would say that Raging bull could've even gotten some ideas from Godfather. Foul languages, violent abuses, street-fighting... not a typical boxing movie that had these to offer! I was shocked because i thought it was going to be good boy Rocky who gets challenged by some Mr. T lookalike and get beaten up badly then come back to give ’em a whiplash... but heck no. Instead, it was the opposite. |
| I wouldn't say that this is the best movie i've ever watched in my life or the best boxing movie ever, but i would easily say that this movie is the trademark of Martin Scorsese's movies later on. Well, Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci's in it...of course. Robert Deniro acted as though he was Sonny Corleone (James Caan)... same hairstyle and brutality! That's what made me a little puzzle, cause this guy could've actually played Sonny Corleone if James Caan doesn't exist!
The movie was quite okay in the beginning, but it definitely got sickening boring somewhere to the closing end. |

| I actually read the internet bout this guy La Motta (Robert Deniro). In real life, he actually did more controversial things outside the ring than inside of the ring. The movie portrays him as a fighter whom could've been great just because he is the only person who had knocked out Sugar Ray Robinson in the first round, but they became rivals and he lost to Sugar 5 times out of 6 matches.
Well, Hollywood will do anything to get a story. |
