Verdict on the CJ7 trailer (copied over from the last post): Fans of Kung Fu Hustle might be a tad disappointed by what CJ7 obviously isn't: a martial arts movie. This is more ET than Bruce Lee, but at least Stephen Chow is not peddling the same shit to us over and over again. On the other hand, science fiction has been a difficult genre for Chow, with notable flops such as Out of the Dark and The Sixty Million Dollar Man. Back to the trailer - the bit at the rubbish site is cute, and the kid was funny near the end. Downside: not really laugh-out-loud funny, the effects didn't look spectacular, while the UFO model looked so 1980s Hong Kong SFX. Conclusion: I'm keeping an open mind.
